Leather mask, 'The Captain' (black and white)
The bold contrast of black on white surrounds calculating eyes and flows across the aristocratic nose. A classic character in the 16th century Italian commedia dell'arte, the captain's expression is rigid and severe, typical of one who is in command. Marclio Barroco molds the mask from leather and paints it by hand; his signature is a symbol. It features an elastic band.
